A good number of the population consider the bedroom as their favorite room in the house. Many spend a good amount of time in it because of its comfortable aura and cozy feel. Because its a place for slumber and rest, being in ones bedroom gives a feeling of freedom and comfort. Because a bedroom has to keep a comforting aura, many take time out to choose the furniture and pieces that goes into it. Like any other room in the house, the things in it must fit the function of the room and the available space in it. Design and the price of the furniture are two of the top concerns of people when getting fixtures for their bedroom and for the rest of the house. Furniture makes or breaks the look of the house, and so care must be exercised while choosing what to get. While design and price are valid considerations, there are other factors that need to be considered but are totally ignored by many. Two important considerations that are ignored are the health and ecological benefits of the furniture have. These two are very valid criteria that one should consider when getting furniture other than considering just the price and design.
Traditional Chinese furniture demonstrates superb craftsmanship developed over centuries. Lacquer is prominent in traditional Chinese furniture with wood treated to a dark brown or shiny black finish and with hand carved or painted scenery, gold leaf overlay or mother of pearl inlays. Colours used are varied but include red which represents good luck and happiness and yellow or gold which represents health and long life. The peak of Chinese traditional furniture manufacture was the period between the Ming and Qing dynasties. Ming furniture represented simple structure, wonderful craftsmanship and minimal decoration which revealed the natural beauty of the wood. Qing furniture was larger in size and elaborate engravings were popular. Handcrafted traditional Chinese furniture makes a fascinating centre-piece for your home. From wedding cabinets to decorative chests, ornamental stools, two door storage cabinets, side tables and oriental screens, Chinese furniture makes a wonderful addition to any setting and is a work of art in its own right.
Constructed in the USA. Furniture assembled in the USA, but from foreign parts or wood. The parts have been pre-manufactured outside America, like much of Americas car industry uses parts made in Japan or Korea. It might be easier to find spares for recliners and other functional furniture than items made and constructed outside the USA, but not necessarily. Made in America. This handmade furniture is manufactured entirely in America from American wood and home-made parts. You will not find it as easy to find this type of furniture as you might think, since not all screws, nails and other metallic parts might have been sourced in the USA. However, the item is fundamentally American, made in the USA for principally U.S. manufactured parts and certainly from American wood. Parts are easy to get if your recliner stops reclining! None of this suggests that the furniture concerned is not handmade, although much foreign furniture, and some American furniture, is made by robots. True handmade American furniture is offered by a number of well-known traditional firms such as Stickley, Sherrill, Southwood, The Custom Shoppe, Simply Amish and American Craftsman.
